Can I do a one way rental?

One way rentals are usually possible and you will find these can be booked on line.
If you are having difficulties with your request online, please call a member of our team who will assist you with your booking.

 
Can I take my rental car on the ferry? Αnd is there an additional cost?

The simple answer is YES. But You have to let us know prior to your rental. (You can mention this on the comments field when you make your online reservation). There is an additional cost of 30€.

 
What is the excess amount?

The excess amount is a fee that is pre-authorised on your credit card to cover for charges that may not be a part of your standard insurance package, such as damage. If there is an excess amount on your rental it will be specified under the Payment section of your confirmation voucher. This will be released back on your card upon returning the car with no damage. Pre-authorisation times vary. Could be minutes, days or even a week or more, depending on a mix-and-match of elements, including the type of card you use (credit or debit), the way you used it (PIN or signature), the bank or credit union issuing the card, the merchant involved, your own history and even the day of the week.

Τhis service is usually available – this should be requested online at the time of booking.

 
What is the Full Damage Waiver product?

Our Full Damage Waiver product is an optional service, it is offered online and protects you from excess payments.  In the event of an accident or damage to your vehicle you’ll be fully protected from any repair costs. (Exceptions apply, see Exceptions on Terms)

 
I need to amend my booking

All Amendments – changes, are Free of Charge and can be made before the start of the rental. MUST be made in writing, emailed to info@poseidoncarrentals.com or faxed  to +30 2310 239120, or by phone at: +30 2310 223222 and will take effect from the date and time received by Poseidon Car Rentals. (Please do Not forget to include your reference number)
We cannot refund any unused days or part days if the vehicle is returned early on any rental.

 

 
I have received my voucher and I need to put additional extras onto my booking

Feel free to do so. By Email at: info@poseidoncarrentals.com.  You can also fax us at: +30 2310 239120, or Call our Reservation Department  at:+30 2310 223222. Please do Not forget to include your reference or your voucher number.

 
How can I cancel my booking?

Cancelling your booking is Free of Charge for Cancellations made 48 hours before the rental start date. Cancellations MUST be made in writing, emailed to   cancellations@poseidoncarrentals.com  or

faxed  to +30 2310 239120, or by phone at: +30 2310 223222 and will take effect from the date and time received by Poseidon Car Rentals.
No refunds will be given for rentals ended early, late collections, no shows or cancellations made after the rental start date, especially for No Shows, Last Minute Cancellations (48 hours prior to rental date) the amount of €50 will be charged on the credit card provided for the reservation.

 
I need to extend my rental

If you have Not yet collected the vehicle – you can change your return date  using the same procedure as at “I need to amend my booking”. If you have already collected the vehicle – It is possible to do this locally. Please call our reservations department at: at: +30 2310 223222. Some times this will be charged at the local rate which can be higher than that you have already paid.

 
I have not received my confirmed voucher by email

Please allow 48 hours for your confirmation voucher to be sent. If after 48 hours you haven’t received your voucher please email us at info@poseidoncarrentals.com or call our reservations department at: 2310 239120, quoting your reference Number and a member of our team will be happy to assist.

What do I need to take to collect the vehicle?

When collecting the vehicle the principal driver will need to bring the rental voucher, a Valid International or European Unions’ driving license for at least 12 months, and a major credit card in their name. It is often useful to bring a further means of identification – e.g. a passport.

 
What will I need to pay for locally?

Poseidon Car Rentals provides all inclusive rates. Occasionally You will need to pay locally for any additional extras, for example, additional drivers, child seats etc or additional services such as domestic one ways, additional insurances. Any mandatory fees (non extras) payable locally will be clearly shown when booking and on rental documentation.

 
I have completed my rental and have a complaint

All complaints should be sent to the Customer Services Department . You can do this by emailing us at: complaints@poseidoncarrentals.com

 
Can I take the vehicle out of the country of rental?

No. Cross border rental is not permitted

 
What should I do if I am involved in an accident?

In the event of any mechanical difficulties or accidents involving your car, it is important that you advise Poseidon Car Rentals  as soon as possible, (within 24 hours). In the case of an accident the local police should be advised and a police report completed, and the full details of the 3rd party should also be taken. You will need to complete a full accident report form when returning the vehicle to Poseidon Car Rentals. Poseidon Car Rentals  must give authority to replace or repair a vehicle retain a copy of all. It is important  that you retain a copy of all documentation for your own records.

 
How do I find You, at the Airport of Thessaloniki, to get my rental car ?

The Arrival Hall is on ground level. Please use the Elevator and Go to the 1st floor (Departures). On the street, there is a Bus Stop. When You are there, Please call Our Representatives at: +30 6979727974, +30 6979727914 to pick up your rental car. Our Representative  will assist you to pick up your rental car within the area of the airport.

 
I have been charged by the supplier – what is this for?

There can be a number of reasons for local charges, including but not limited to: – refuelling charges, additional extras, damage to the vehicle. When you collected your vehicle you may have purchased and signed for some of these. Your documentation from the supplier should list the charges made. Should you be unable to understand the documentation, please contact our customer service department who will be happy to assist you. Naturally to do this we will need to contact the supplier & pass on your comments which may take up to 28 days. I’ve lost my booking reference/ voucher

Please contact one of our team reservations@poseidoncarrentals.com who can assist you in locating your booking reference. If you already have your reference, but need a copy of your voucher, they will be able to assist you with this also.

 
What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

In the event of a delay, if you have already provided us with your flight details we will be able to track this. In the event of a long delay, you can also contact our team who can advise the location of your situation. In the event of a cancellation, please advise our team as soon as possible, as we will need to cancel the vehicle and failure to notify us will result in charges.

 
I need a vehicle over a major holiday period

When renting over a major holiday period, PoseidonCarRentals.com suggests that you try and book your vehicle as far in advance as possible. Like holidays over this period, availability does become more scarce & prices do rise, so by booking earlier it is possible to secure the best deal. Key times of the year to be aware of are: Easter, Christmas, School Holidays, Mid July through Late August

 
What should I do when returning the vehicle?

When returning the vehicle you will need to have your rental paperwork from the          rental company ready to hand over. This will detail the mileage & any damage on the vehicle when you collected the vehicle. We strongly suggest when returing the vehicle that you take the time to walk around the vehicle with our representative to inspect for damage before signing the documentation as this can reduce any problems further down the line. You will receive a final copy of the documentation from us to take with you – please keep this safe.

 
What is an out of hours fee?

If we agree to open a location outside of our regular hours to provide a vehicle to you, then we usually charge a fee for doing this – this is called an ‘out of hours fee’. This fee covers the cost of staffing the location and is included in our rates.

 
A lot of companies charge for amendments – do you?

PoseidonCarRentals.com currently offers it’s customers free amendments, giving you peace of mind should your travel plans change.

 
The price has changed since I last checked

PoseidonCarRentals.com has a dynamic pricing policy so prices are subject to change at any time. Unfortunately we cannot honour previously seen prices including quotes you may have requested and been sent. We therefore always recommend that you confirm the reservation as soon as possible as the availability of vehicles at the lowest rates can be limited.

 
Can I drive my vehicle off road?

Insurance does not usually cover taking vehicles, including four wheel drives off road or onto un-tarmacked tracks, so we strongly recommend that you do not do this as it may invalidate your insurance.

 
What is your fuel policy?

The vehicle should be returned with the same amount of fuel it was picked up with.

 
How are car hire ‘days’ calculated?

Car Hire works on a 24 hour clock, so if you rent from 10am Monday to 10am Tuesday this is considered 1 day. If you rent from 10am Monday to 1pm Tuesday you have then passed 24 hours and have therefore entered a second day of rental and will therefore be charged for 2 days rental. Please therefore check your times carefully when booking as times can have a big impact on price.

 
Are snow chains guaranteed?

Snow chains  are available at some locations and should be requested at the time of booking. Unfortunately due to demand these cannot always be guaranteed, so the earlier these can be requested the better the chance of securing these. This option will incur a small fee.

 
Is it safe to book with a credit card on the website?

What is my booking reference?

Your booking reference is an alpha/numeric reference which you will receive at the time of booking. This makes it easy for our team to identify you when communicating with you regarding your booking.

 
I returned my vehicle early – can I have a refund?

Unfortunately we are unable to refund any unused days or make refunds on vehicles returned early.

 
I have not received my postal confirmation voucher.

PoseidonCarRentals.com normally sends out vouchers by email. If you would prefer a postal confirmation voucher or fax copy please contact us and we will be happy to arrange this.

 
What are the minimum and maximum ages to rent a vehicle?

If you are aged under 23 or over 70, please do not hesitate to contact one of our team who can run through all the available options with you.

 
Is it possible to reduce the vehicle excess?

It is possible to reduce the excess on the vehicle by purchasing our “Full Damage Waiver” product. This product reduces the excess down to zero. This option is available online.

 
My details are incorrect on my voucher

Please call one of our team or email the request with your booking reference to reservations@PoseidonCarRentals.com who will be happy to assist in correcting the details.

 
What is an international driving license & when is it needed?

The International Driving Licence (IDL) is recognised worldwide and identifies its holder as a properly licensed driver. It is normally valid for 1-2 years but does not replace a valid National Driver’s Licence which will always be required. It enables local traffic police and rental companies to understand the language on your normal driving licence. The IDL is not required where English is the primary spoken language of the country. It is also not mandatory in many countries within Europe, but is recommended for most due to language barriers. If you are in any doubt please do not hesitate to contact a member of our team for further information.

 
I can’t find the vehicle I want to rent

In order to make sure our site is user friendly, not all cars will always be shown on the internet, although we always endeavour to show you our best deals. Please call one of our team who will be able to discuss alternative vehicles available with you

 
I need a child seat – are these guaranteed?

Child seats are almost always available. This extra service is available online. Please note that you will be required to fit child seats yourself.

 
Can I rent a car if I don’t have a credit card?

In most cases You will need a valid credit card (visa-mastercad) in the lead drivers name. If You do not have a credit card, please call our reservations department to discuss any alternative options.
